DESCRIPTION:
WW - Breitling Super Ocean "minute creeper" chronograph, ref 2005, manual wind, 42mm x 48mm to lug tips, 22mm lug width, original stainless steel screw back case with bidirectional timing bezel and faceted lugs with round pump pushers, vintage rubber strap, original black dial with luminous painted hour plots and an outer minute chapter in white, chronograph running indicator inset at 6, 17J cal 188, s#1053268, triple signed. Released in 1964, this model replaced the older more traditional diving chronograph Breitling had made, namely the Super Ocean ref 807. Breitling heavily modified the Venus caliber 188 to serve their purposes making this a highly unusual minute creeper chronograph with running indicator at 6 to distinguish when the timer was engaged. Truly a fascinating piece of 1960s era Breitling ingenuity and design.
